Description

The purpose of this course is to instruct students to assist the employer in regulatory compliance and employee safety.


The operator will have a clear understanding of the safe operating rules of Powered Industrial Trucks, inspections, and maintenance.


The operator will demonstrate the proficiency to obtain the employers certification to operate the vehicle by learning key areas of skill and performance including:


  • operating a forklift
  • inspection requirements
  • safe work practices
  • passing a written exam with a score of at least 80 per cent
  • demonstrating the ability to safely operate a forklift
